I was quite drawn to this fashionable woman, wearing the traditional cross-stitched hat under her head scarf. She turned her head and stared straight ahead when she noticed my camera. Tashkurgan is one of the few places in China where I encountered the Tadjik, a traditional ethnic group of Iranian heritage.
